Driver CPC Periodic Training From September 10th 2009 [2008 for bus drivers] every professional lorry and bus driver of vehicles exceeding 3.5 tonnes must undergo 35 hours periodic training every 5 years. The 35 hours periodic training must be completed by September 10th, 2014 [for those already holding C1, C, CDE entitlement; D1 or D entitlement by 2013.] Thereafter, 35 hours ongoing training will be required every 5 years. One advantage of the Driver CPC training is that the 35 hours can be spread over a 5 year period, as long as you attend a minimum of 7 hours at any one time.
